Sentence deferred
A MAN drove at dangerous speeds down a singletrack road near Taynuilt, hit a car and a van and kept going.
When police tracked him down at Crianlarich, they found his badly damaged vehicle had been running with the tyre completely gone from one wheel.
‘I’ve got to get a report here. What on earth has been going on?’ said Sheriff Ruth Anderson QC at Oban Sheriff Court last week.
In the dock was William Reid, 28, of 18 Lora View, North Connel, who pleaded guilty to dangerous driving on the unclassified road between the B845 and the A85 near Taynuilt, at speeds excessive for the prevailing conditions and colliding with a car and van, and also to drink driving.
Sentence was deferred until June 21 for a report.
