High­lands gears up for busy sea­son

TOURISM busi­nesses in the High­lands are gear­ing up for a busy sea­son ahead.

There are events for vis­i­tors of ev­ery age and in­ter­est in­clud­ing Isle of Skye Half Marathon in June, a char­ity gar­den open­ing at Dun­ve­gan Cas­tle and Gar­dens on Skye on var­i­ous dates un­til Oc­to­ber, 10 Un­der the Ben in Fort Wil­liam – a 10hour moun­tain bike en­durance race, The Glen­coe Sky­line ul­tra marathon in Septem­ber, and High­land games and shows, in­clud­ing Helms­dale High­land Games in Au­gust.

Scott Arm­strong, Visit-Scot­land re­gional part­ner­ships di­rec­tor, said: ‘I like to try to get along to the many dif­fer­ent and var­ied events that vis­i­tors can en­joy when vis­it­ing the High­lands through the sum­mer months, as there is al­ways some­thing in­ter­est­ing to ex­pe­ri­ence.’
