In­ner Wheel rolls up with £200 cheque

NORTH Ar­gyll Young Car­ers Ser­vice, which sup­ports car­ers aged eight to 18 who look af­ter those suf­fer­ing phys­i­cal or men­tal ill­ness, were given a £200 cheque by the In­ner Wheel Club of Oban last Thurs­day, dur­ing Car­ers Week.

The sum was raised at last Septem­ber’s Oban Sportive bicycle ride, where the ladies handed out high en­ergy bars at wa­ter­ing and feed­ing sta­tions along the 50- to 80-mile routes in Kilchre­nan and Kil­martin.

Morag MacLean, man­ager of North Ar­gyll Car­ers Cen­tre, thanked the club for their ‘fan­tas­tic on­go­ing sup­port’ which ‘makes a huge dif­fer­ence’, par­tic­u­larly in fund­ing res­i­den­tial and day trips giv­ing young car­ers a break.
