Abi turns out for Scotland in Europe Sevens tournament
A FORMER Oban High School pupil was part of the Scotland women’s rugby team that came second in a European competition last week.
Abi Evans played her part in all six of the Rugby Europe Sevens tournament but, unfortunately, the 20-year- old and her team were beaten 34-15 in the final by Sweden.
Scotland topped their group – winning all three games against Switzerland, Czech Republic and Israel.
They then played Czech Republic again in the quarter-finals, and the Scotland seven-a-side squad defeated their opponents 24-5, before winning 17-12 against Germany in the semi-final.
The Scottish team made their way back home on Monday from Prague, where the tournament was held.
