Shellfish toxin warning issued

MONITORING by Food Standards Scotland has identified raised levels of shellfish toxins in the Kyles of Eriskay.

Eating shellfish from these areas may pose a risk to human health. Commercial shellfish harvesters in the area have been contacted by Western Isles Council and steps taken to postpone harvesting until algae levels subside.
