Benbecula

A PHOTOGRAPHER with Benbecula links has been invited to showcase his work at a prestigious exhibition in Edinburgh. More than 50 national and international lensmen will take part in the two-week event – the Retina Scottish International Photographic Festival – which starts on June 24.

This includes port Glasgow-based, CJ Monk, whose father Fergus is from Creagorry.

CJ Monk said: ‘The Hebrides has provided inspiration and partly helped mould my photographic style. Benbecula is very special to me; it’s where my father grew up so I feel a strong emotional connection.

‘The Retina Scottish International Photographic Festival is a fantastic opportunity to share my work with a wider audience. I am delighted to be exhibiting alongside such high-profile international photographers.’
