Runner on the road to a record
A RUNNER has visited Connel as part of a world record attempt for charity.
Yvie Johnson, from Denbigh in Wales, has been running from Land’s End to John O’ Groats and back again, a total of 1,680 miles, making her the first woman to do so. She is raising money and awareness for mental health charities Bipolar UK, Mind, Scottish Association for Mental Health, Young Minds and Place-2Be.
On the return leg Ms Johnson had an overnight stay with The
Oban Times’ marketing manager Pauline Clifford, who is a friend. Ms Clifford said: ‘She is absolutely amazing, running more than a marathon every day for 42 days.’
