Three driv­ers all lose li­cences

THREE peo­ple were banned from driv­ing in sep­a­rate cases on Tues­day.

Cather­ine Smith, 48, of Grampian Court, Irvine, was caught the morn­ing af­ter a drink­ing ses­sion and found to have 51 mi­cro­grams of al­co­hol in 100 millil­itres of breath when the limit is 22. Smith, a self- em­ployed de­liv­ery driver, was caught speed­ing near Ap­pin on May 7, 2015. She was dis­qual­i­fied from driv­ing for 15 months and fined £200.

Mary MacDougall, 55, Morvern Hill, Oban, was found in Soroba Road seven times the limit with 154 mi­cro­grams of al­co­hol in 100 millil­itres of breath on March 10, 2016. MacDougall was dis­qual­i­fied for two years and given two months to pay a £500 fine.

Wil­liam Reid, 28, of Lora View, North Con­nel, was stopped by po­lice in Tyn­drum on April 21, 2016. Reid was found to have 82 mi­cro­grams of al­co­hol in 100 millil­itres of breath, al­most four times the limit. Reid was dis­qual­i­fied for two years and fined £500.
