Lochaber busi­nesses join to launch new mar­ket­ing group

A NEW joint mar­ket­ing group has been set up in Lochaber.

West High­lands and Isles Tourism As­so­ci­a­tion (WHITA) is made up of four ex­ist­ing or­gan­i­sa­tions – Ard­na­mur­chan Tourist As­so­ci­a­tion, Dis­cover Glen­coe, Road To The Isles Mar­ket­ing Group, and the Fort Wil­liam Ac­com­mo­da­tion Mar­ket­ing Group – who have joined forces to pro­mote the area to po­ten­tial vis­i­tors from all over the world.

With a com­bined mem­ber­ship of around 300 lo­cal tourism busi­nesses, WHITA be­lieves it pro­vides the most rep­re­sen­ta­tive, com­pre­hen­sive and ap­pro­pri­ate plat­form for fu­ture joint mar­ket­ing and tourism plan­ning in the re­gion.

This week it launches WHITA2016, a sur­vey de­signed to be­gin the process of col­lect­ing some real data about vis­i­tors.

Andy Keen, chair­man of the Fort Wil­liam Ac­com­mo­da­tion Mar­ket­ing Group said: ‘By lis­ten­ing to our vis­i­tors and our lo­cal busi­nesses, then pool­ing our re­sources and work­ing to­gether, we can spread the right mes­sage far and wide, bring­ing more tourists – and more money – to the area.’
