Extra capacity on coach route
ULLAPOOL to Inverness coach passengers should benefit from extra capacity following an agreement to put an extra coach on the route.
Concerns about capacity on the service, which connects with the ferry to and from Stornoway, were raised at a meeting of the Comhairle’s transportation and infrastructure committee.
Service operator Scottish Citylink already regularly deploys an additional coach whenever bookings for the service exceed the capacity more than 48 hours in advance of the departure time.
At the meeting the bus operator agreed it would aim to ensure an increased capacity service would be deployed wherever possible to ensure passengers are not stranded on the mainland.
