Workshops do the business
BUSINESS Gateway Argyll and Bute is encouraging business owners to take advantage of the free skills workshops coming up.
Due to the popularity of the spring workshop programme, additional workshops will run over the summer months.
The Introduction to Trading Online workshop is a workshop of two halves. The morning will focus on some of the basics required for trading online and will look at the various tools, platforms and payment options available to everyone.
It will include some information on the legal requirements and discuss the impact of online e- commerce. Specifically it will advise how to plan for a successful e- commerce site, decide which payment options to use, understand the rules and regulations, make it easy for visitors to buy from you and engage your buyers.
The afternoon will focus on online marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay and Etzy. It will cover choosing the right marketplace, understanding how marketplace fees affect profitability, after sales and trading internationally.
This workshop will run in Inveraray on July 28 from 10am to 4pm. It is being delivered for Business Gateway by Gary Ennis, founder of NS Design Ltd, an award-winning digital agency.
Anyone thinking about starting their own business should join the Business Start-up workshop in Lochgilphead on July 26 and 27 to help develop their ideas into a practical and effective plan.
The practical basic book-keeping workshop will run in Lochgilphead on August 23. Those new to business and with little or no formal training in book-keeping will benefit from this workshop, which provides the starting point for good record keeping and understanding financial information.
Back by popular demand are the social media workshops being delivered for Business Gateway by Rene Looper, founder of Tuminds Ltd.
The Introduction to Social Media for Business workshop is designed for people who haven’t used social media for their business before and want to know more about how Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn can help build their business.
This half- day workshop is taking place in Ardrishaig on August 24. For those looking to take their social media marketing to the next level, the Doing More with Social Media workshop is running in Ardrishaig on August 25. The workshop will cover new developments, how to increase your impact, understanding analytics data and tools for managing multiple social media platforms effectively.
