Work­shops do the busi­ness

BUSI­NESS Gate­way Ar­gyll and Bute is en­cour­ag­ing busi­ness own­ers to take ad­van­tage of the free skills work­shops com­ing up.

Due to the pop­u­lar­ity of the spring work­shop pro­gramme, ad­di­tional work­shops will run over the sum­mer months.

The In­tro­duc­tion to Trad­ing On­line work­shop is a work­shop of two halves. The morn­ing will fo­cus on some of the ba­sics re­quired for trad­ing on­line and will look at the var­i­ous tools, plat­forms and pay­ment op­tions avail­able to every­one.

It will in­clude some in­for­ma­tion on the le­gal re­quire­ments and dis­cuss the im­pact of on­line e- com­merce. Specif­i­cally it will ad­vise how to plan for a suc­cess­ful e- com­merce site, de­cide which pay­ment op­tions to use, un­der­stand the rules and reg­u­la­tions, make it easy for vis­i­tors to buy from you and en­gage your buy­ers.

The af­ter­noon will fo­cus on on­line mar­ket­places such as Ama­zon, eBay and Etzy. It will cover choos­ing the right mar­ket­place, un­der­stand­ing how mar­ket­place fees af­fect prof­itabil­ity, af­ter sales and trad­ing in­ter­na­tion­ally.

This work­shop will run in In­ver­aray on July 28 from 10am to 4pm. It is be­ing de­liv­ered for Busi­ness Gate­way by Gary En­nis, founder of NS De­sign Ltd, an award-win­ning dig­i­tal agency.

Any­one think­ing about start­ing their own busi­ness should join the Busi­ness Start-up work­shop in Lochgilp­head on July 26 and 27 to help de­velop their ideas into a prac­ti­cal and ef­fec­tive plan.

The prac­ti­cal ba­sic book-keep­ing work­shop will run in Lochgilp­head on Au­gust 23. Those new to busi­ness and with lit­tle or no for­mal train­ing in book-keep­ing will ben­e­fit from this work­shop, which pro­vides the start­ing point for good record keep­ing and un­der­stand­ing fi­nan­cial in­for­ma­tion.

Back by pop­u­lar de­mand are the so­cial me­dia work­shops be­ing de­liv­ered for Busi­ness Gate­way by Rene Looper, founder of Tu­minds Ltd.

The In­tro­duc­tion to So­cial Me­dia for Busi­ness work­shop is de­signed for peo­ple who haven’t used so­cial me­dia for their busi­ness be­fore and want to know more about how Twit­ter, Face­book and LinkedIn can help build their busi­ness.

This half- day work­shop is tak­ing place in Ar­dr­ishaig on Au­gust 24. For those look­ing to take their so­cial me­dia mar­ket­ing to the next level, the Do­ing More with So­cial Me­dia work­shop is run­ning in Ar­dr­ishaig on Au­gust 25. The work­shop will cover new de­vel­op­ments, how to in­crease your im­pact, un­der­stand­ing an­a­lyt­ics data and tools for man­ag­ing mul­ti­ple so­cial me­dia plat­forms ef­fec­tively.
