Oban ladies pick up the silverware

LADIES from Oban Bowling Club won the pairs and triples at the Argyll and Bute finals which were played in Rothesay on Saturday July 16.

The pairs were lead Janet Campbell and skip Anne MacDougall, who beat a team from Kirn and Hunter’s Quay in the semi-final then defeated a team from Campbeltown Argyll Green in the final.

The triples were lead Kirsty Gargan, second Emma Gargan and skip Marian Carr. They beat a team from Upper Cowal in the semi-final and then defeated a team from Campbeltown Bowling Club in the final.

Both Oban teams now go on to represent Argyll and Bute in the county top 10 team next year.

The prizes were presented by Anne Marie Sullivan who is president of West of Scotland Women’s Bowling Association, who was a guest at the finals.
