Sher­iff court con­tin­ues drink drive and knife case against re­tired Fort judge

THE CASE con­tin­ues against a re­tired judge from Fort Wil­liam who is charged with drink driv­ing and pos­ses­sion of a knife.

Richard Twin­ing Sidg­wick, 71, from Mile­ston Hill House, first ap­peared in Fort Wil­liam sher­iff court on May 12 af­ter reg­is­ter­ing 110 mil­ligrams of al­co­hol in a 100mg breath sam­ple at his home the pre­vi­ous evening. The le­gal limit in Scot­land is 22.

Sidg­wick was also charged with fail­ing to iden­tify the driver of the ve­hi­cle when re­quested to do so at 8.30pm at his house on May 11 and be­ing in pos­ses­sion of the knife at Fort Wil­liam Po­lice Of­fice the same day.

His case was pre­sented again in Fort Wil­liam on Tues­day (July 19) and Sidg­wick is next due to ap­pear in court on Mon­day Au­gust 15.
