Argyll to get money from EU
IN THE wake of the Brexit result, The Oban Times asked Argyll and Bute Council how many agreed projects would receive European funding.
A Freedom of Information officer said four projects were in the offing.
A Business Gateway Local Growth Accelerator Programme was awarded £272,100 from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and covers all of Argyll and Bute Council area.
Argyll and the Islands LEADER was awarded £4,886,126 and covers all of Argyll and Bute as well as Arran and the Cumbraes.
The European Maritime and Fisheries Fund was awarded £985,000 covering all of Argyll and Ayrshire.
Lastly, the Big Lottery Fund has started the procurement process for Delivering Financial Inclusion, supported by the European Social Fund.
The total contract value for Argyll and Bute is £ 3.77 million.
Procurement opened on May 13 and closed to initial responses on July 11 2016.
The council intends to submit a bid in conjunction with a number of other local agencies.
Invitations to tender will be issued in August to the highest scoring bidders in each of the lots and the deadline for submissions of responses is Tuesday September 20.
