Model ships on show at hotel
AN AWARD-WINNING hotel will be all at sea for two days when it stages a nostalgic exhibition of model ships.
The four vessels, including two Clyde steamers which featured at Glasgow’s famous Riverside Museum last year, were hand-built by John McNulty senior, father of the chef-patron of the Taynuilt Hotel and Restaurant.
The 1:24 scale models – the largest of them 12 feet long – can be viewed at the hotel on Saturday and Sunday August 6 and 7 from noon to 7pm. Admission is free.
The steamers, a trading schooner and a model puffer, will be on show alongside a photographic and digital display.
John McNulty junior said: ‘It’s a rare chance to see fine examples of precision work carried out to preserve the memory of the days of doon the watter.’
