Port Appin
AN ARGYLL hotel has been chosen as one of the top 200 restaurants in the UK in the Tatler Restaurant Guide for 2016.
The Airds Hotel and Restaurant in Port Appin, near Oban, is the only establishment in Argyll to be named in the annual guide and one of only 50 restaurants situated outside London.
The restaurant prides itself on using local produce and head chef Chris Stanley was recommended in the Michelin Guide in 2016.
Airds Hotel and Restaurant owner Shaun McKivragan said: ‘We are over the moon to have been included in the prestigious Tatler Restaurant Guide 2016.
‘It is a real testament to head chef Chris Stanley and general manager Graham Steven that they have achieved this.’
Regional director for Visit Scotland David Adams McGilp said: ‘My congratulations go to the team at the Airds Hotel and Restaurant on achieving this status.
‘It is accolades such as these that help to boost the growing reputation of restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs in Argyll and the Isles.
‘Food and drink are an integral part of the outstanding tourism experience the region offers so it’s important we promote the fantastic quality of our local produce and the superb standard of catering on offer here so that we inspire more visitors to explore the region.’
