David’s win­ning ways at Ari­saig games

FORT Wil­liam’s David Hart came out on top at the 80th Ari­saig High­land Games and Clan Ranald Gath­er­ing, tak­ing home a num­ber of first prizes and three tro­phies.

David won the 22lb shot­put com­pe­ti­tion, throw­ing weight for dis­tance, the ham­mer throw, the caber toss and weight over the bar.

He fought off stiff com­pe­ti­tion in the open events to take home the Ari­saig Games, Al­lan MacDon­ald and Creag Mhor Caber tro­phies. David also took home the White­head tro­phy af­ter win­ning all the lo­cal heavy­weight events.

The sun came out for the af­ter­noon events and more than 2,000 vis­i­tors from all over the world turned out to watch the games last Wed­nes­day, July 27.
