Sports shop returns to Fort William
INTERSPORT has returned to Fort William with the opening of a new store in Cameron Square.
Billy Thomson, who lives in Oban, worked in the original Intersport sports shop in Fort William’s High Street and now owns and runs the one in Oban. He had been looking for some time to re- open a store in Fort William.
He said: ‘ We got a lot of Fort William customers coming to the shop in Oban and I knew from the experience of working there that the town is comparable to Oban in size and population. There’s also as much, if not more, sport going on than in Oban so I knew there was definitely a need for a sports shop in Fort William.’
Mike Brown was the manager of the first Fort William Intersport shop and he has come back to manage the new store.
He said: ‘We have received nothing but great feedback from the Fort William public who are glad to see the shop return.’
