A PURPOSE-BUILT depot on Skye is helping a bus company serve customers better.

Stagecoach, which employs 20 people on the island, has invested more than £750,000 in the new base for its 15 island buses.

Steve Walker, managing director, Stagecoach North Scotland, said: ‘ We are delighted to open the new depot which has good onsite facilities for engineering and driving staff. The previous depot had limited opportunity to maintain vehicles so this will make our operations in Skye much more efficient.’
