£100,000 funding is now up for grabs
BUSINESSES from Campbeltown to Dunoon and Lochgilphead to Oban, within the region of Highlands and Islands Enterprise, are being encouraged to apply for the next round of Scottish EDGE funding.
As much as £100,000 is up for grabs in both grants and loans. The competition is funded by the Scottish Government, RBS and the Hunter Foundation to stimulate business growth.
OTAQ from Oban was recently awarded £100,000 to develop an innovative seal deterrent system for fish farms.
Commenting, Argyll and Bute MP Brendan O’Hara said: ‘From my extensive visits around the constituency, I am amazed at the depth of innovation present in Argyll and Bute, diversification and finding niche markets. I am especially keen to see the area exploit each and every opportunity to open Scotland up to international markets.
‘This is a great initiative and I hope this message reaches everyone who can benefit significantly from it.’
Advice is available from HIE to support and coach applicants prior to submission. Ultimately, any initiative that stimulates business opportunities, entrepreneurship and international trade must be supported.
