Mull showcase for selected Glasgow Print Workshop art

-

AN EXHIBITION featuring ‘ world class’ art was unveiled in Tobermory last Saturday boasting a selection of prints from the Glasgow Print Workshop.

Staff at An Tobar Arts Centre had the opportunity to look through the archives of the Glasgow Print Workshop and select which pieces of work they wanted to display.

The exhibition is titled You Humans and it ‘reflects on the ways that they [the artists] have explored the depiction of humanity’.

Mike Darling, exhibition coordinator, said: ‘I’m really excited about it. It’s worldclass art in Tobermory.

‘The selection is based on a wide range of print techniques. We are trying to get a bit of a buzz going around printing.

‘They [the prints] are all for sale and in our smaller gallery we are putting on another exhibition called Argyll Prints – it’s a collection of print work from artists from Argyll and Mull.’

Workshops teaching various printing techniques will also run alongside the exhibition, which will be on display until October 1.

An Tobar is also looking for submissions from Artists from Argyll to display in a gallery once the current exhibition ends.

Mike added: ‘It would be good to get some people in from outside of Mull. I will try to organise a pick up from Oban.’
