Partners un­veiled for Ar­gyll En­ter­prise Week

A WIDE range of part­ner or­gan­i­sa­tions have signed up to take part in Ar­gyll’s first En­ter­prise Week, with a huge ar­ray of free sup­port on of­fer.

Ar­gyll En­ter­prise Week is a new ini­tia­tive, de­but­ing in Oban on the Oc­to­ber 31Novem­ber 4.

Hosted in part­ner­ship by Ar­gyll and Bute Coun­cil’s Busi­ness Gate­way and High­lands and Is­lands En­ter­prise, the week of ac­tiv­i­ties aims to in­spire, in­form and con­nect busi­nesses, so­cial en­ter­prises, com­mu­ni­ties and en­trepreneurs from across the area and beyond.

Ac­cess to fund­ing is a key theme, with DSL Busi­ness Fi­nance, Ar­gyll and the Is­lands LEADER, crowd­fun­der Growth Deck, SJ Noble Trust, Scot­tish Edge, Busi­ness Gate­way and an­gel in­vestor In­vest­ing Women An­gels all de­liv­er­ing ses­sions to ex­plain the fund­ing they can of­fer to busi­nesses and how to ap­ply.

Cen­tral to the week will be a busi­ness sup­port fair which will showcase the wide range of sup­port avail­able. More than 25 or­gan­i­sa­tions will be on hand to out­line the sup­port they of­fer, in­clud­ing Scot­tish Devel­op­ment In­ter­na­tional, Scot­tish Man­u­fac­tur­ing Ad­vi­sory Ser­vice, Ar­gyll Col­lege, In­ter­face and the coun­cil’s plan­ning and reg­u­la­tory ser­vices.

Net­work­ing events through­out the week will be fa­cil­i­tated by Women En­ter­prise Scot­land, Fed­er­a­tion of Small Busi­nesses, In­spir Alba and The Oban Times.

Dig­i­tal, in­no­va­tion and in­ter­na­tion­al­i­sa­tion sup­port will be pro­vided through work­shops from Dig­i­tal Boost and HIE’s spe­cial­ist teams.

David Smart, Head of Spe­cial Projects for High­lands and Is­lands En­ter­prise com­mented: ‘We are de­lighted to be work­ing with such a wide range of en­thu­si­as­tic partners. Ar­gyll En­ter­prise Week will demon­strate the strength and depth of sup­port avail­able, with our partners fo­cus­ing on of­fer­ing prac­ti­cal sup­port to help en­ter­prise flour­ish in Ar­gyll and the Is­lands. I would en­cour­age any­one who has an in­ter­est in en­ter­prise to get in­volved with what is go­ing to be an ex­cit­ing week.’

A fo­cus on key sec­tors is sup­ported by partners in­clud­ing Ar­gyll and the Isles Tourism Co-op­er­a­tive, Scot­land Food and Drink and Craft Scot­land.

The event pro­gramme will be pub­lished at the end of Au­gust, when the ac­tiv­i­ties will open for bookings.
