A CHARITY collection bottle containing about £250 has been removed from the canteen of the Highland Council Roads Department. The theft took place on Monday September 12 at Carrs Corner in Fort William. Police say this ‘brazen theft’ has occurred during working hours in the busy canteen. Between 7pm on September 10 and 6pm on September 12, a child’s specialise­d black Hard Rock mountain bike was stolen from Camanachd Crescent. Between 4pm on Thursday September 15 and 11am on Friday September 16 a theft oc- curred from a shed at 38 Moray Place, Fort William. Nike Vapor golf clubs in a blue and yellow Wilson bag, a Cube push trolley and a bag of tools were stolen. The lock screws were removed by the culprit. Between noon and 4pm on Monday September 5 a Nintendo 3DS portable device and a charger were removed from an insecure room in Lochaber UHI College accommodat­ion at An Aird. Anyone who has informatio­n about this or knows of the whereabout­s of these items is asked to contact police. Between 7pm on September 10 and 10am on September 13, damage was caused to the security padlock at the entrance to the New Start compound in Ben Nevis Industrial Estate. This appeared to be an attempt to gain entry to commit theft. Police are appealing for more informatio­n. At 5pm on Friday September 17 on the path from Victoria Road to Fassifern Road, Fort William, a female was assaulted. She was harassed by four males who shouted at her and then threw a stone. These males were wearing sports clothing and appeared to be drinking in the bushes on the path. Police are appealing for any detail on the identity of these males.
