Funbox return to Oban with some ‘Animal Magic’

FROM the tops of the trees to the deep blue sea and all the world in between, come and join Funbox for their new singalong show as the family favourites return to Argyll and Bute in October. They are visiting Campbeltown, Oban and Helensburgh.

Whether you roar, squeak, flap or swim, it’s time for some fun with Anya, Gary and Kevin (the former stars of the Singing Kettle).

There are songs and silliness galore in this exciting new show and, of course, keys to find to open the Funbox, which has everything you need to sing a song or have an adventure and, who knows, they might even need your help on stage too.

Fluffy and Flossie, the fuzzy funsters, are on hand to help and, of course, everyone’s favourite naughty dog Bonzo will be swinging in to join in the fun.

Remember to dress as your favourite animal or bird.

It’s been an amazing year for the Funbox gang with shows all over Scotland and beyond.

‘ We had our first gigs in England this summer,’ says Kevin, ‘ with performances in Whitehaven and at the Cambridge Folk Festival. We really like visiting Argyll and this year we are coming in the autumn.

‘ We always love a visit to Oban though – the prawn sandwiches on the pier are a must.’

Animal Magic comes to the Corran Halls in Oban on Saturday October 8 at 2pm and promises the usual mix of music and mirth for all the family.

Packed with classic singalong favourites like Down In The Jungle, The Bear Hunt and Three Craws, as well as brand new songs, it’s the perfect treat for kids of all ages – from nought to 90.

The show has proved so popular the gang have filmed it for their latest DVD.

‘People kept asking for it, so we are giving them what they want,’ continues Anya. ‘ We recorded it in Musselburgh and the finished Animal Magic DVD should be along some time in October, hopefully in time for Oban.’
