Argyll take on Scottish League select at Tarbert
AN ARGYLL select will take on the might of the Scottish Amateur Football League in the annual Joe Paterson memorial fixture to be played on Saturday at Tarbert. The game should have been held in Campbeltown, but work being done on the playing surface at Kintyre Park meant the game was switched to Tarbert.
The trophy has been played for on 32 occasions with each team winning 16 times so this will add a bit more spice to this weekend’s fixture.
The Argyll squad is chosen from players from Campbeltown Pupils, Lochgilphead Red Star, Oban Saints and Tarbert. The squad chosen is – Ryan Gilchrist, Gary Grumoli, Liam Renton and Keith Mitchell (Campbeltown Pupils); Kieran Moore, Aaron Moore, Lee MacLean and Luke Naisby (Lochgilphead Red Star); Thomas McCulloch, Scott Maitland, Donald Campbell and Craig MacEwan (Oban Saints); Fraser Talbot, Andrew Guy, David Ronald and Craig Johnstone (Tarbert).
