The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. The charity asked people all over the UK to host their own coffee mornings, so look out for local signs and pop in for a cuppa and cake. All donations on the day will go to Macmillan Cancer Support. At 23 years old, World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is not only Macmillan’s flagship fundraiser, but it is the original and most successful charity fundraising event of its kind. Since then, the coffee morning has raised over £138 million for Macmillan. The first ever coffee morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process.
