A DOG died after be­com­ing un­well on a walk at Fish­nish, Isle of Mull, but after an ex­ten­sive search po­lice of­fi­cers do not believe there is any foul play.

The dog be­came ill after walk­ing in the for­est with its owner and two other dogs. The pet was taken im­me­di­ately to the vet on the is­land who di­ag­nosed a num­ber of con­di­tions.

The dog was then taken home by its owner where it died in the early hours of Sun­day morn­ing.

A po­lice con­sta­ble in con­junc­tion with Forestry Com­mis­sion Scot­land searched the area for any signs of poi­son but noth­ing un­to­ward was found. There are no re­ports of ill­ness in other dogs. A 39-YEAR- OLD man was ar­rested for al­legedly as­sault­ing another man in the Quarry Road area of Oban on Novem­ber 15. A re­port has been sent to the procu­ra­tor fis­cal. A MAN was re­moved from Oban, Lorn and the Isles hos­pi­tal on Novem­ber 15 shortly after 10.45pm after al­legedly as­sault­ing a mem­ber of staff. The 46-year- old was kept in cus­tody and a re­port has been sent to the procu­ra­tor fis­cal. A THEFT from a com­mer­cial prop­erty in the Lochavullin area of Oban is be­ing in­ves­ti­gated. The break-in was be­tween 6pm on Novem­ber 16 and 9am the next day. Any­one who saw any­thing sus­pi­cious should con­tact PC Danny Mac­Beth on 101. A 25-YEAR- OLD man has been re­ported to the procu­ra­tor fis­cal for al­legedly pos­sess­ing a class A drug on the Es­planade in Oban at 4.30pm on Novem­ber 17. A 35-YEAR- OLD man has been re­ported to the procu­ra­tor fis­cal for an al­ter­ca­tion that al­legedly hap­pened in a pub on Soroba Road, Oban, on Friday Novem­ber 18. A DRIVER speed­ing at 78mph in a 50mph zone at Ar­rivain near Tyn­drum on Novem­ber 19 has been re­ported to the fis­cal.
