Mental health services move
ARGYLL and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is continuing with the building improvement programme to relocate inpatient mental health services from Argyll and Bute Hospital in Lochgilphead to the lower ground floor of Mid Argyll Community Hospital and Integrated Care Centre in Lochgilphead.
It is anticipated the work will be completed by the end of March 2017 as planned.
The HSCP recently held a series of dropin events across Argyll and Bute to let the public view the plans for the Mid Argyll hospital unit and discuss the move with representatives from the mental health service.
Donald Watt, mental health services manager, said: ‘During November and December we held a series of drop-in events across Argyll and Bute to provide members of the public with an opportunity to find out more about our plans for inpatient mental health services.
‘I would like to thank those people who attended the events and I hope they found them informative and that they took the opportunity to discuss our plans for mental health services with the HSCP representatives present on the day.
‘If anyone would like further information, please email nhs.abhscp@nhs.net and we will reply as soon as possible.
‘Representatives from the HSCP are also continuing to work closely with other agencies including Argyll and Bute Council, Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service and this multiagency approach will continue as the services are developed.
‘Finally, I am delighted that the building works remain on track to be completed by March 2017 and that we will be able to provide a service within a facility that is more suitable for the needs of patients.’
