Strathallan –

-

Green space, a home from home and an exceptional breadth of opportunities for boarders and day pupils alike

Located in the heart of Perthshire but with easy access to Edinburgh and Glasgow, Strathallan’s green and leafy campus expands to more than 153 acres. It includes some of the best facilities of any school in Scotland and provides the setting for day and boarding pupils to take every advantage of the exceptional breadth of activities available to them.

At Strathallan, our ethos is to provide opportunities for every pupil to excel; in practice, that means ensuring that each individual, no matter what their passion or interest, is supported to do well, achieve their personal best and, importantly, enjoy their time at school. It is an approach which leads to a rich diversity of pupil experience and some exceptional achievements – academically, in sports, the performing and creative arts and other areas.

Across the school, pupils can choose from more than 80 activities which include everything from fencing to debating, clay pigeon shooting to dance. Strathallan has carved out an excellent reputation for sports, both traditional team sports but also in individual activities. Teams are frequently to be found on the podium and individuals have claimed medals in skiing, tennis, badminton, swimming, golf, karate and more, with many representing Scotland and GB. Music and the performing arts are flourishing too and are set to strengthen with the recent addition of a state- of-the-art dance and drama studio.

Strathallan is also a school with strong family values and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, something that benefits enormously from the fact that the majority of staff live on site. Our day pupils are part of the same houses as the boarders, creating a solid foundation for developing friendships in and out of school.

From Riley, our junior house, upwards, our visitors tell us they get a real sense of Strathallan when they meet our pupils and see the school for themselves. We encourage you to do the same and welcome visits at any time of the year.
