LOCHABER High School pupils Siobhan Chambers and Ryan Boyle have been presented with the Fraser MacPhee Ambassador for Sport trophy by Duncan and Rosemary MacPhee.

The trophy is presented annually in memory of their son, Fraser, who died in 2002 while a pupil at Lochaber High School.

Siobhan, an S4 pupil, is a talented athlete who has a particular interest in gymnastics and trains for seven hours every week.

She helps with coaching gymnastics, tennis and multi-sport activities where she has made an ‘outstanding contribution’ over the last two years.

Siobhan also enjoys climbing and participates in Dance Platform.

Ryan, also an S4 pupil, captained the North of Scotland U14 Shinty team and was named National U14 Shinty Player of the Year in 2015.

He has captained the school team that won the MacBean Cup three times and the MacPherson Cup twice.

Ryan was also an important member of the team that won the Wade Cup at Kingussie this year. Ryan helps out with shinty training for S1 pupils in the school and with U14 training at Fort William Shinty Club.

Both Siobhan and Ryan are also Sportscotland Young Ambassadors, promoting sport and inspiring their peers to get involved in sport at the school, at local sports clubs and in the community.
