Caol school pupils fly eco flag again

-

FOUR is the magic number at a Fort William school which received another award for doing its part in keeping Scotland beautiful.

Caol Primary School was handed its fourth Eco-Flag last week. Eco- Schools is the largest sustainable schools programme in the world, designed to encourage whole-school action on sustainable development education issues.

Head teacher Steven Hamilton said: ‘This is the school’s fourth Eco-Flag and it has been a great team effort to maintain our Eco- Schools status.

‘Our Eco- Committee and Green Gardeners Committee have done a lot of work across the school involving every class.

‘Led by Miss Adam and Mrs Carabine, the committees, with pupils from every class represented, worked in the school garden and on a variety of eco topics.

‘Now that we are settling into the new school, the groups are very excited about getting started in the new eco garden and planters around the school when spring arrives.’
