Company in running for business award
FORT WILLIAM Marina and Shoreline Company (FWMSC) has been shortlisted at the first Scottish SME business awards.
The company is up for an award in the business community initiative of the year category with the winner announced at an awards ceremony in Glasgow in March.
Sarah Kennedy, company secretary, told The Oban
Times: ‘I nominated us not thinking we would get anywhere.’
But the public has been voting for FWMSC over the last few months to secure them a place in the finals.
Mrs Kennedy continued: ‘It’s rewarding to have been shortlisted because we have put a huge amount of effort into what we do and it’s nice to know we have support and recognition from people.’
FWMSC had more good news last week as the seventh cruise ship booked up to come to Fort William.
The MV Hebridean Princess will be docking on Wednesday March 22 at the town's new pontoons, with 50 passengers and around 38 crew disembarking from the ship.
