Re­view of polling places con­tin­ues

FOL­LOW­ING the first stage of the pub­lic con­sul­ta­tion on the re­view of polling places in High­land, the Re­turn­ing Of­fi­cer has pub­lished pro­pos­als and an ap­peal for fur­ther re­sponses.

The aim of the re­view is to en­sure ev­ery elec­tor has ‘rea­son­able fa­cil­i­ties’ for voting and that the polling places are ac­ces­si­ble for every­one. The coun­cil is keen to hear from peo­ple with ex­per­tise in ac­cess for peo­ple with dis­abil­ity on the pro­pos­als for changes to ex­ist­ing polling places.

Rep­re­sen­ta­tions can be made by post to Elec­tion Of­fice, High­land Coun­cil, Glenurquhart Road, In­ver­ness, IV3 5NX; by email to elec­tion@ high­land.gov.uk or by phone on 01463 702945. The clos­ing date for submissions is 5pm on Fri­day Jan­uary 20.
