Review of polling places continues
FOLLOWING the first stage of the public consultation on the review of polling places in Highland, the Returning Officer has published proposals and an appeal for further responses.
The aim of the review is to ensure every elector has ‘reasonable facilities’ for voting and that the polling places are accessible for everyone. The council is keen to hear from people with expertise in access for people with disability on the proposals for changes to existing polling places.
Representations can be made by post to Election Office, Highland Council, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness, IV3 5NX; by email to election@ highland.gov.uk or by phone on 01463 702945. The closing date for submissions is 5pm on Friday January 20.
