Successful time for swimmers
THE LAST six months as an affiliated club has brought great success as well as a very busy schedule for the Lochaber Leisure Centre swimmers.
The swimmers have travelled to Buckie, Tain, Inverness, Stirling and Aberdeen competing in training days and galas.
Swimmers Jenna MacLean and Evie-Jay Clark managed to get four of the qualifying times required to join the Scottish Regional Development Programme and they attended training sessions in Aberdeen.
A spokesperson for the club said: ‘It was a positive experi- ence for both of the swimmers who were given the opportunity to train with other elite swimmers, learn about nutrition and land-based training.’
The gala in Tain was another successful event for the swimmers. On the day there were 50 new personal best times recorded, 17 new age group records set and one new club record set.
The age group records were Evie-Jay Clark for 50m fly and 100m IM; Danni Maclean 50m fly; Jenna Maclean 50m front crawl (also a new club record), 50m breast and fly and 200 IM;
Winners of the Stevie Martin trophy awarded to the swimmers of the year were Lyall Morris from Ardnamurchan High School and Evie-Jay Clark from Inverlochy Primary School.
