SPEAN Bridge Golf Club will hold its an­nual gen­eral meet­ing and awards pre­sen­ta­tion next month.

The event will take place on Satur­day Fe­bru­ary 25 and will in­clude a Texas scram­ble at 11am.

Re­fresh­ments, in the club­house, will be served be­tween 1pm and 2pm, with the AGM and awards start­ing at 2pm. A LOOK back at the alu­minium plant which is due for ex­pan­sion will take place next week at the Lochaber Lo­cal His­tory So­ci­ety talk.

Mick Tighe will be speak­ing about the Fort Wil­liam plant’s early con­struc­tion, il­lus­trated by many newly dis­cov­ered pho­to­graphs. The talk has been prompted by the find­ing of many boxes of glass plate slides stored in the fac­tory which have been painstak­ingly cleaned and re­pro­duced.

All wel­come at the Ben Ne­vis Ho­tel on Thurs­day Fe­bru­ary 2 at 8pm. MAK-A- DIN will play in Glen­coe next month. Gor­don and Davy are a lively Scottish and Ir­ish folk duo and will per­form at the Clachaig Inn on Fe­bru­ary 27. All mu­sic is in the Boots Bar and starts at 9pm. Free en­try. Over-18s. A re­mem­brance ser­vice will be held in St Mary’s Church, Glen­coe, at 11am, fol­lowed by the march to the Mas­sacre Cross at ap­prox­i­mately 11.45am. THE Mu­sic Shed Choir starts on Tues­day Jan­uary 31 at 7.30pm in St An­drew’s Church Hall. New mem­bers are wel­come. The only qual­i­fi­ca­tion is to en­joy singing.
