Argyll Tapestry - the fabric of success

-

Lizzie Campbell Preston had the most amazing first year at Argyll Tapestries on the esplanade at Oban, finishing on a high during a storm with customers braving this to do their final Christmas shopping. Luckily no water came into the shop and the shop is set fair for the New Year.

Lizzie, trained at The Royal School of Needlework, set up Argyll Tapestries as a shop to sell hand painted tapestry kits and finished works of her own and others. Argyll Tapestries carries out restoration work and new commissions with one of the favourite’s being a tapestry of much loved homes interpreted by Lizzie from photographs. Examples of her work can be seen in the shop.

Lizzie is really looking forward in 2017 to welcoming back her wonderful customers from far and wide but especially those surrounding Oban and the Isles, catching up on their lovely tapestry stories, how they started off from encouragement from grandmothers, mothers and aunts and even a few fathers.
