Patient is airlifted

THE Coastguard rescue helicopter was called into action last week (Wednesday January 25) to airlift a person from Mull to Lorn and Islands Hospital at Oban.

The helicopter was called out after Oban lifeboat had been asked to assist with the medical transfer from Craignure.

Due to the anticipated weather conditions and the casualty’s condition, it was decided the safest form of evacuation was via the rescue helicopter.
