AN EVENT focusing on the threats and issues of biodiversity in Lochaber will take place on Monday February 13 at 7.30pm in the Alexandra Hotel, Fort William.
It will comprise of a discussion panel chaired by the Lochaber Biodiversity Action Group, with speakers invited from Scottish Natural Heritage, Forestry Commission Scotland, Nevis Landscape Partnership, Police Scotland and Lochaber District Fisheries Trust.
A CONCERT featuring Lews Castle College music student and Mary Ann Kennedy will take place on Tuesday February 7 at Clachan Church Hall. A raffle will be held with proceeds being donated to Carinish school project.
THE NEXT meeting of the Fort William branch of the Scottish Women's Institute is on Monday February 6 at 7.15pm in the Montrose Centre, Inverlochy. The speaker is Kenny Lang who will talk about his life as a vet. Everyone welcome.
THE ANNUAL general meeting of Lochaber Sensory Care (LSC) for Sight and Hearing Support is being held on Saturday February 25 at Caol Community Centre. The meeting will run from 2pm to 4pm and the agenda will include a report on sensory care year, and the election of new board members. The AGM will be followed by a free buffet provided by LSC.
On Tuesday February 7, representatves of Lochaber Sensory Care for Sight and Hearing support will be at Mallaig Medical Centre. They will be in attendance to have a chat and offer help and advice to anyone living with sight or hearing loss. The LSC team will also supply NHS hearing aid batteries, provide re-tubing for hearing aids and help with any difficulties. They will be there from 2pm to 3pm and no appointment is needed. FREE back-to-basic sewing classes are being offered by Lochaber Environmental Group (LEG). Everyone is welcome and no previous sewing experience is required.
