PLOCKTON Amateur Dramatic Society has put on its third revived pantomime.

The club was revived in 2013 after being out of action for a number of years, and this year members put on The Snow Queen, starring Sue Atkinson in the title role and Greg Dobson as Granny McGonagall.

The Plockton Amateur Dramatic Society and its youth section, Plockton Amateur Dramatic Youth Society (PADYS), came together for this year’s performance, with 18 children and 10 adults in the cast and youngsters sharing parts across the performances.

During the performance the Snow Queen stole young Kai so she could marry him and rule both the Kingdom of Ice and the Kingdom of Men. Granny and her friends, including Jack Frost and a troll, made the treacherous journey to save him.

The club put on four performances over three days with proceeds going back in to help pay for costumes, scenery and props for competitive productions, as well as helping with travel ex- penses for competitions and buying laptops and T-shirts for the youth section.

Sarah Bruce from the society said: ‘This year we have had to have extensive repairs done to our storage barn and meeting room which have cost us a lot of money, so we’re hoping this will be successful enough to put us back in a financial comfort zone.’
