AWARD WINNERS FOR ISLANDS REGION

So the Prince of Wales walks into a bar. It’s not a joke; it’s a true story from one of Scotland’s most iconic, and award-winning bars.

The Crown Inn in Stornoway may be best known as the place a 14-year old Prince Charles snuck away for a brandy, but these days it’s garnering awards for attributes such as its friendly, relaxing atmosphere and extensive craft gin selection.

The Crown Inn has won the Best Hotel Bar and Best Bar Manager (Marcus Hird) at the Islands Regional Final of the Scottish Hotel Awards. Since its 2015 refurbishment, The Crown Lounge Bar has become the place to relax and enjoy a tipple and a snack while visiting the Isle of Lewis, boasting a local feel with a drink selection that rivals a metropolitan area.

As well as an extensive whisky and beer selection, The Crown offers more than 90 craft gins and jenevers, each hand selected by Marcus and his knowledgeable team, who are happy to help guests choose the perfect nip.
