Fort Wil­liam to host Lochaber stock judg­ing

ON FRI­DAY Fe­bru­ary 3, Lochaber Shep­herds held their an­nual stock-judg­ing com­pe­ti­tion at Ben Ne­vis Auc­tion Mart, Fort Wil­liam.

There were com­peti­tors from far and wide across Lochaber and Ar­gyll com­pet­ing in judg­ing eight classes of dif­fer­ent sheep sup­plied by lo­cal shep­herds.

Eighty-two com­peti­tors took part in judg­ing the dif­fer­ent classes.

Judge for the evening was Dan MacLach­lan from Dal­mally.

The com­mit­tee would like to thank the shep­herds for bring­ing the sheep to judge, all the spon­sors for the raf­fle prizes, the ladies for the scor­ing, home bak­ing and serv­ing the teas.

This year two lo­cal char­i­ties will re­ceive £ 300 each from the profit of the evening - Ab­by­field, Ballachulish and Alzheimers Scot­land, Fort Wil­liam.
