Fort William to host Lochaber stock judging

ON FRIDAY February 3, Lochaber Shepherds held their annual stock-judging competitio­n at Ben Nevis Auction Mart, Fort William.

There were competitor­s from far and wide across Lochaber and Argyll competing in judging eight classes of different sheep supplied by local shepherds.

Eighty-two competitor­s took part in judging the different classes.

Judge for the evening was Dan MacLachlan from Dalmally.

The committee would like to thank the shepherds for bringing the sheep to judge, all the sponsors for the raffle prizes, the ladies for the scoring, home baking and serving the teas.

This year two local charities will receive £ 300 each from the profit of the evening - Abbyfield, Ballachuli­sh and Alzheimers Scotland, Fort William.
