Ferry disruption expected

-

FERRY passengers suffered disruption earlier this week as severe gales blew over parts of western and northern Scotland.

A yellow warning for wind in the north and west of Scotland was issued by the Met Office on Monday (Feburary 6) with gusts of up to 60mph.

CalMac sailings between Tobermory and Kilchoan were cancelled because of the high winds, and the Mallaig to Armadale route was also affected.

Other services with possible disruptions and cancellations included sailings from Raasay, Lochaline, Lochmaddy, Uig, Ullapool and Stornoway.
