Lewis firm wins national award
A LEWIS pharmaceutical company has won a national award for its work in science.
BASF Pharma (Callanish) Limited, which makes omega-3 products, won the Export and International Trade award at the Scottish Enterprise Life Science awards.
The company, which employs 74 people at its base in Callanish on the west side of the Isle of Lewis, is part of chemicals company BASF.
Chris Scarrott from BASF, said: ‘ We are thrilled by the award. It reinforces what can be achieved with innovation even in the most remote locations, particularly when supported by excellent partner agencies like HIE.’
