POLICE in Lochaber have recorded an increase in house break-ins.

Home owners are encouraged to remain vigilant at all times as the most recent break inns have taken place while homes have been unoccupied.

A police spokesperson said: ‘ Taking precautions such as leaving lights on while you are away and asking neighbours to keep a watchful eye are little things that go a long way in the prevention and detection of these crimes.’

Any suspicious activity or strange/unknown vehicles in local area should also be reported to police as a matter of urgency.

During the early hours of Sunday January 29, a mobile phone was stolen from the Crofter Bar, High Street, Fort William.
