AP­PIN folk turned out in their droves to a fundrais­ing con­cert in Ap­pin Vil­lage Hall and do­nated £1,120 to two lo­cal causes.

Ap­pin’s Big Night Out, held last Satur­day, fea­tured the bands Sutherland’s Groove, SB Rhythm and Blues Band and Rough Edges, solo singers Lora Ma­cLeod and Moira Thom­son and the Tr­ish McKay High­land Dancers.

The funds will be split be­tween Port Ap­pin Vil­lage Hall and a pro­ject to set up an out­door class­room at Strath of Ap­pin Pri­mary School.

Such was the suc­cess of the event, or­gan­is­ers Char­lie Rogers, Kirsty McQueen, Lind­say Muir and Julie Weir are con­sid­er­ing an­other Ap­pin’s Big Night Out to­wards the end of sum­mer.

Ap­pin singer Moira Thom­son was ac­com­pa­nied for her ren­di­tion of Won­der­ful Tonight.
