Jobs Fair 2017
Oban Opportunities for all-careers and jobs fair
Following its success in the past few years Michael Russell MSP, in conjunction with Brendan O’Hara MP and the Argyll and Bute Employability Partnership, will be hosting a careers and jobs fair in Oban on Tuesday, March 7. Free for jobseekers, the event will be held in the Corran Halls from 10.30am until 1pm and will play host to a large number of employers from a wide range of fields. This will be an opportunity for local employers to promote job opportunities to aid recruitment, and likewise provide an opportunity for jobseekers to explore local employment opportunities and even hand in their CVs. Commenting ahead of the event, Michael Russell, MSP for Argyll and Bute, said: ‘I am delighted Oban will play host to a jobs fair again this year. ‘I have been involved in the organisation of these such events across the constituency for many years now and they are always hugely successful and met with much positivi- ty from both prospective employers and employees. Argyll and Bute has an incredibly rich pool of talented people but often finding the right job can be challenging. That’s why events like this are so important to helping people find opportunities and jobs they may never have before considered an option. With so many local employers taking part in the fair, I am sure it will once again be greatly received and I am looking forward to hearing of its success.’ Brendan O’Hara MP, who is co-hosting the event, said: ‘It is great to see the return of the jobs fair to Oban which has been a great benefit to both jobseekers and employers alike. Whether you are looking for your first job after leaving school or graduating, looking to change jobs or even find a totally new career, the jobs fair may be just what you are looking for. With a whole range of employers wanting to speak Oban’s jobseekers, it will be a fantastic opportunity to speak to them face to face in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.’ Employers from across the area will be in attendance, including Blue Triangle Housing Association, Carers Direct, Scottish Salmon Company, TSl Contractors, Argyll College and Business Gateway. ‘With so many local employers taking part in the jobs fair, I am sure they will once again be greatly received and I am looking forward to hearing of its success,’ Mr Russell said.
