WCA names new Valerie Fraser Cup sponsor
The Women’s Camanachd Association has unveiled Marine Harvest as new sponsors of the Valerie Fraser Camanachd Cup, the blue riband event of the woman’s game.
This investment means Marine Harvest now sponsor both WCA national cup competitions and all five WCA leagues.
WCA president Lisa MacColl took time to thank previous Valerie Fraser Cup long-term sponsor Peter Gow. She said: ‘The WCA would like to acknowledge the support of the previous sponsor Peter Gow who has been involved since the first finals. We are delighted Peter will remain involved by sponsoring the player of the match awards for both finals.’ The draw for the Marine Harvest Valerie Fraser Camanachd Cup and Marine Harvest Challenge Cup competitions took place at Marine Harvest Headquarters, Rosyth, on Thursday March 30. The draws were made by Steve Bracken from Marine Harvest and WCA president Lisa MacColl. Scottish international Rosie Mulligan and Aberdour Ladies head coach Charlie Neilson were also in attendance. The draws are as follows: Saturday April 22 Skye v Glasgow Mid Argyll Sunday April 23 Lovat v Fort William Cowal & Bute v Aberdour Badenoch & Strathspey v Lochaber The draw for the semi-finals will be made after the quarter-final ties have been played.
