Boys’ Brigade pair get royal seal of approval at annual awards night
TWO MEMBERS of the 2nd Fort William Boys’ Brigade Company were awarded the organisation’s top accolade at the group’s annual parents night and awards ceremony in Duncansburgh Macintosh Church Hall last Friday night.
Ewan MacGregor and Roddy MacLeod were awarded the Queen’s Badge, complete with certificate signed by HM The Queen.
During the event the boys demonstrated marching and other skills learned over the last session and outlined the many projects they had undertaken. Inspecting officer was Father Roddy MacAuley from St John’s, Caol, who along with company chaplain Rev Richard Baxter praised them on their smart turnout and exemplary conduct.
Awards were presented to recognise exceptional work, including four President’s Badges and two of the ultimate accolade, the Queen’s Badge, complete with certificate signed by HM The Queen. Kieran Boyd, above, received perfect attendance and best Anchor Boy in his section and was also promoted to the Junior Section.
