Motorcyclist in fatal crash named
A MOTORCYCLIST who died following an accident on the A82 near Invergarry has been named.
Ewan Smith, 48, from Renfrew, sustained fatal injuries when his bike collided with a bus at Laggan Locks on Wednesday April 12, Police Scotland confirmed.
Neither the bus driver nor the passengers suffered any significant injuries in the accident, which happened at around 1pm.
A spokeswoman for Scottish Citylink confirmed its vehicle had been operating from Inverness to Fort William.
She said: ‘Our first thoughts and deepest condolences are with the family of the person involved.
‘ We are assisting police with their inquiries into the circumstances of the incident.’
The road was closed for more than four hours after the incident, with north- bound traffic being diverted at Spean Bridge.
Police Scotland said inquiries into the full circumstances surrounding this incident are ongoing and anyone who can assist with the investigation is asked to call 101.
