– United Auctions had a total clearance at their Islay sale of store cattle on Saturday April 8, when they had a catalogued entry of 723 head. Bullocks rose £40.48 per head or 21.6 pence per kilo on the year while heifers recorded a rise of £47.43 per head or 19.9 pence per kilo. Bullocks levelled out at £ 872.53 per head or 241.83 pence per kilo while heifers sold to average £787.59 per head or 231.75 per kilo. Mr Carmichael, Coillabus, led the top priced bullocks per head at £1330 for Limousin crosses while the Lossit consignment led the kilo prices in this section at 285 pence.
